Youth accused of possession of terrorist articles - Birmingham Youth Court - Monday 11th March 2013
My client pleaded guilty to possession of Terrorist articles and items used in the preparation of explosives today at Birmingham Youth Court.
He has received a Hospital Order and will continue to receive treatment for his mental health disorder. Unfortunately my client's diagnosis of aspergers syndrome has only taken place since his arrest. He and his family were keen to seek medical attention prior to his arrest but it was not provided in time to prevent the commission of these offences.
My client has never harmed anyone or committed any acts of violence. With the correct treatment he hopes to go on to lead a fulfilling life.
As my client is a youth there is of course a reporting restriction preventing his identification including his location.
